September is here and we’re off and running. We’ve begun our year, and have many great things planed for us this year. First of all is the expansion of Downtown Youth Group to 2 weeks a month. This is exciting as we get to reconnect to our friends from the mission trip as well as a chance to meet new friends. DYG had our annual kickoff at McNaughton park in August, and it was great. The youth played water games, and it ended with a huge water fight, with every teenager, and some adults, soaking wet in the end. It was a great way to get fired up for this year. In September we will be going to Central Christian to play some 10-base kickball! Very exciting.
We are excited for a great year, and cannot wait to really dive in to all of our activities and service projects for this year. We have already experience a few of those activities before our actual year began. We attended a Hawk Nelson concert in July, as well as the World Pulse in August. We are also looking forward to our annual road clean up, movie nights, sardines, 30 Hour Famine, Niles Haunted House, and more.
We hope that we can again count on the support of the congregation. We cannot tell you enough how much we appreciate all the support we receive. If you are interested in getting involved with the group in any way, such as helping with dinners, driving to events, or just joining us for a night to get to know the group, please contact Amanda Brown 264-0872 or ALBrown011@aol.com. We are also always looking for new members to our group. If you are in the 6th through 12th grades we would love to have you join us! J
Attention All Youth Member & Families
In the coming months we have a lot of events planned that will need the help of all members. Along with that we will also be going on some fun outings around town. Recently it has been that one or two members show up for the service or work projects we organize or regular meetings, and then everyone wants to come to those fun events that we plan and bring friends along too. It's great that members want to go out and have a good time and include friends from outside the church. The fact is some of these members are not pitching in for the work, but want to experience the rewards. Youth group is about the service as much as it is about the fun. If members are not willing to participate in service projects and regular meetings, then they will not be going on the fun outings. As stated before, the group is about more than just the fun, it’s about learning God’s word through service and fellowship. Please, we need everyone to pitch in to make this group the success it has been in years past.
Thank you.
Amanda
